Zoopharmacognosy broken down is (from the Greek) Zoo (meaning animal) Pharmaco (remedy) and gnosy (knowing). Animals know how to self medicate and have been doing so for thousands of years. They would not have survived their evolutionary history and therefore would not be here today.
